Details:
Cultural Art's Association Flutterby Arts Festival
November 14 & 15, 2009
WaterColor Marina Park [MAP]
Flutterby is new and improved! After a hiatus last year, it's coming back in a big way on November 14th and 15th at WaterColor's Marina Park. The Atlanta-based Picadilly Puppets Company will perform "Butterfly Ballad." The Seaside Repertory Theatre will lead storytelling adventures. There will also be puppet making, inflatables, children's art, wing decorating, and butterfly parades are just a sample of the fun things available at this "place for kids to flitter."
Volunteers Needed:
As always, it takes volunteers to make a successful festival. If you could spare a few hours to help out, please let the CAA know ASAP. You may call the office at 622.5970 or email CulturalArts@embarqmail.com.
The CAA is partnering with Wachovia/Wells Fargo to allow students at Butler Elementary School to be involved with the Flutterby Festival in a creative and fun way. Students will paint beautiful butterflies that will be on display at the Wachovia branches in Redfish Village and Seaside. One student's work will be chosen as the poster and t-shirt image for the 2009 Flutterby Festival. The public will have an opportunity to vote for their "People's Choice" Award per grade. The poster winner will receive a $100 savings bond and the five "People's Choice" winners will each receive a $50 savings bond, courtesy of Wachovia/Wells Fargo.
Fall & Winter Market - Vendors Needed:
The WaterColor Homeowners Association is hosting the Fall & Winter Market in conjunction with Flutterby this year.
The concept of Fall & Winter Market comes from the famous German Christmas Markets where a variety of vendors display their merchandise, or craft, in a street fair setting making the sites, smells and sounds of the season come alive with holiday spirit. Highlights of the event will include live music, an eclectic mix of gifts ideas, great food, drinks and more.
The Fall & Winter Market organizers are inviting area vendors to be involved and be creative with fall and winter merchandise including but not limited to: chocolates, fresh breads, pastries, cider, cookies, fresh produce, nuts, (or any kinds of food/drink) scarves, hats, candles, ornaments, arts & crafts, fine art, jewelry, books, Christmas Tree decorations, pottery, mugs, present wrapping, etc.
If you would like to complete an artist/vendor form, please send an email request to info@monarkevents.com.
