{ Architecturally stunning. Exclusive. Elegant. An oasis of luxury. Mediterranean-inspired.}
Alys Beach, Florida is the newest addition to the New Urbanism movement in South Walton county, Florida - the movement that makes Scenic Hwy 30A such an extraordinary destination and magnet for architectural students and professionals from around the globe.
Nestled on 158-acres on the north and south sides of East Scenic Hwy 30A, Alys Beach is arguably the most architecturally spectacular and has already set a new standard on 30A for quality, receiving several impressive accolades already since inception. Drawing inspiration from Bermuda and Antigua, the contrast of the town's white stucco walls and white-ridged roofs against the emerald blues and greens of the surrounding environment is truly stunning. Also distinctive, the community is comprised of villas, courtyard homes, family compound retreats and rowhouses as opposed to the typical detached single family structure seen in most South Walton communities. Alys Beach also consistently uses the most ecologically responsible methods for community building. It's a walkable, energy-efficient community development created to be durable and storm resistant, and built using green materials and construction practices.
As of July 2009, Alys Beach is still in it's initial build out period but at completion, the master plan calls for 900 dwellings as well as a thriving town center - called The Village at Alys Beach - complete with many restaurants and retail shops, community gathering spots, parks, pools, and nature trails. Also coming to Alys Beach - a world-class beach club, tennis and spa facilities, a piazza overlooking the beach, and boardwalks through the wetlands.
